PETE SIMPSON
Facilitator / Guide
Pete is a Scotsman who's lived in Wānaka for 16 years. He first came to New Zealand in 1994 to kayak and enjoy New Zealand wilderness. After 10 years of working internationally as a professional kayaker, paddling remote and often unchartered class 5 white water, he chose to return to New Zealand and raise a family.
"New Zealand has the perfect environment to blend together any adventure. I think it’s pretty damn neat, and I enjoy sharing this experience with others.”
Pete has a degree in outdoor and community education which has given him the opportunity to work worldwide and subsidise his kayaking habit. Pete is advance first aid trained and a tracking team leader for Wānaka search and rescue.
